17-06-2013 First League Win For High Ridge
High Ridge left it to Match-day 5 to obtain their first league win of the season. The last time it happened was four seasons ago – also in Series III – and Ridge ended third in the league. Four seasons ago, precisely like this season, Ridge were eliminated in the Malta Cup at Round 5 and had one point after four league games matches. This season, realistically, placing third seems to be almost utopist, despite last night’s convincing 6-2 win at Mystique Valley against Jason Guys. Fourth place would be a great achievement, whilst the target is to avoid relegation. Ridge seemed destined for an uphill struggle even to obtain sixth place when the visitors took the lead thanks to Carl Goldhafer. By half-time however, Ridge struck three times thanks to Barthold Hauzeneder, Patrizio Teodorini and Eerik Võsu. In the second half, Joe Micallef and Thoralf Walzhofer gave Ridge a four-goal advantage. Mattia Duvia pulled one back for the visitors before Joe Micallef sealed the 6-2 win for Ridge.
