16-09-2012 Chapter closed after 10 seasons
It was with mixed feelings that manager A.Fell met the press the day after that it had been definitive that IFK after 10 seasons in II.4 had been demoted.
-It is of course a sad day, but I am proud of the team. We missed the chance to play a qualification game with only two goals, but we have had the margins on our side many times before, started A.Fell.
-It all started when we 13 seasons ago (27 Sept 2008) qualified for III.8, which at the time was the toughest div. III league. We had no money and no expectations, perhaps we would last a season or two, says A.Fell.
-We have managed with a strict salary budget and without trading. The record shows that we bought players for 205 MNOK more than we sold players for. The sad part is that we lost 315 supporters since the peak of 3499 supporters in the second season in II.4. Now we will also lose the same amount when we are demoted, continues A.Fell.
-It is time for a fresh start, and we therefore let all the players leave, says A.Fell.
