06-05-2013 Opening of our satellite club FC Damaturu
Sporting's chairman DeKleto was given permission for the opening of Sporting's own football academy in the Nigerian settlement of Damaturu, capital of Yobe region. At the academy, young talented African footballers can work on their football skills. In addition to helping their football potential the students are provided with formal education which is funded by Sporting CD.
"We want to give something back to the environment by education and hope to develop many Nigerian hotprospects for the future."
