Press announcement

7-27-2014 Time is Running Out

The last few end of season press conferences at Reach Gardens have had a similar message. "It just wasn't our season, we're disappointed, we'll improve, glory is just over the horizon." This season the message was the same, but the way it was delivered was in stark contrast. Gone was Hanley's usual anger and frustration, in it's place, an alarming lack of energy. Dejected, exhausted. Perhaps a sign that this stunning squad of players is running out time. The perennial underachievers have had horrific luck at times but there is no escaping the fact that two players have hit their 30s, with more to follow soon.

Another season in which Aspen could destroy any opponent yet drop points to any opponent. A microcosm of this group of players - devastating but inconsistent. No team scored more goals in the top leagues of England, but Aspen finished with +0 goal difference.

CF Aspen Awards
