28-04-2013 Bouncing Back
It wasn't easy or pretty, but Wovers edged out the final game of the season by a single goal to secure the championship and promotion.
Against the strong Goth UTD team, Woys relied on defence and counter-attacks. The club have made no secret of the fact that they have been preparing for using such tactics in level V next season, and the success today will be seen as an indication that they can stay up.
Carsten Bogenreider was grateful to the fans for their part, "The Wallies never deserted us this season. A year ago we were relegated at the last game and it hit everyone hard. But the supporters came through over the past 14 weeks and the ground was sold out for the final game. The players felt that they had that vital 12th man in the stands tonight. The groundsman wasn't too happy about the pitch invasion, but after such an emotional time it can be excused"
Next season will see a return to level V and new challenges, and also the launch of the Welsh franchise - Builth Woys
