Happy New Year!
Best wishes for 2013, may it be a wonderful year in Hattrick for you but even more in your personal life!
Fucking match engine
What a joke. Only one way to lose: (403706764)
- Get 2 negative weather events yourself
- Concede 2 SE goals
- Face a team with 100M+ from doing transfers. Not that this has anything to do with it, much better ratings here...
Honoring a former player
If the weather isn't horrible a full Valley stadium will give Youssef a warm welcome. For his first return to KFC Hever The Eagles, Hevers main fan club, has prepared several banners to support his run to glory in the U20 squad of Belgium and to thank him. After the match the club will also honor the player. We'll do it after the game so all players can keep their focus on the game, especially Youssef. What we planned will remain a secret for now, be sure to visit The Valley to find out!
With the money that we got from his transfer a few players strengthened our squad. One of them was Toquchar Ssima and he told us this in an interview: "I completely understand the fuss around this event, Baddou has been an important player for the club. But we should not be impressed our scared by his U20 caps. I also played 17 U20 games so we fight with equal weapons since I also share my experiences with the team."
Very wise words by our Mongolian youngster. Hever will go for a victory.
Champions in IV.1
For the second time in our history KFC Hever managed to claim the tittle in IV, and we deserved it, we were the better team this season. We were on track for direct promotion to III for a very long time but in the final matches we only got 4/15 while the odds were highly in our favor to get at least 6 points more.
Thanks to the unfortunate match engine events from lately we are not going to be able to promote to III unless a miracle happens.
Either way considering this is our second tittle in IV and because we had a pretty nice cup run we can say that it was a successful season.
I'm not sure yet what we'll do next season. Time will tell us.
What the fuck?
4-1 loss seriously? Pleasant comeback from Gamescom...
Impressive unbeaten run
16 games in a row unbeaten + 12 games won in a row. It's the statistic that puts our comeback from last season in an extra positive light by continuing both runs in the new season.
But all beautiful stories have an ending and this one will write it's final chapter on Wednesday, our cup run is over then.
It's a surprise that we managed to keep that winning run going today. It was a good game for us expect that we had to lose another star player with an injury. After losing 2 strikers the past 7 days we now lose our best midfielder for 2 weeks.
I'm not sure how we'll be able to make up for these losses tactically in the next game @ héte bétenen. It will be interesting to see if we can stay unbeaten in the league.
Season ambitions over
2 matches, 2 injuries, 2 first team strikers and each 3 weeks out. It's safe to say that we can ditch the already close to nonexistent title ambitions we had.
Over the last few seasons we always had scoring problems due to having bad strikers or simply not enough strikers. Now that we have good strikers and more then just 2 starters they end up injured.
So the season aim will change to what it was first intended to be: top 4 and financial improvements.
It could have been a nice season but there will always be other seasons and opportunities later on. And we have to remember the positives: we've reached the 6th round in the cup for the first time in 4 seasons.
Aida 1 - 2 Hever
During the mid season break I've weakened the squad quite a bit, our wages for instance went down with 50.000 / week and our best midfielder got replaced by our 19y old Mongol ULS U20 player for this game.
But surprisingly enough it was sufficient to keep track of Aida's more experienced midfield. It was a balanced game but I'm realistic enough to say that we stole the victory here. After last season I'm not going to complain of course.
There is only one team that got more lucky today: Héte Bétenen. But well I guess it's a skill to score 3 SE goals (head, free kick, quick).
After checking the other games I think we can set top 4 as our goal for the season with hopefully a decent cup run to enhance our financial reserves even more. Because that still is our main goal.
This season is one to forget quickly. Despite ending 4th in one of the most difficult IV leagues we just can't be happy. We deserved to end higher and definitely should've been sure before today that we didn't have to play a qualification game.
No one is going to argue about the title though, the best team won it but I would've liked to see us ending 2nd this season.
Because of the bad results it was a terrible season for our finances as well. We'll have to think carefully about how we are going to fix this. Some players might have to leave to give us some more bank space again. Another option is to actually make an effort to get further in the Belgian Cup.
But not everything is negative of course. We can remember the U-20 caps for Toquchar Ssima, the co-top scorers title for Constancio Campoamor and the strong development of our youngsters.
It's to early to talk about ambitions for next season so I'll come back with more news on that subject in a few weeks.
