Dark skies made the crowd of 44891 at New Marelius a little nervous, but the rain held off. Martin Ruecknagel was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Menachem Daud and Antonino Cabras. It was an obvious ambition of Marelius to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. G.O.B.T. saw most attack opportunities on the wings. A. Olofsson's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert R. Pfeffer was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for Marelius. 1 - 0. R. Lindsey could have put Marelius up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 13 minutes. 23 minutes in, Marelius's B. Landro received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Marelius's R. Pfeffer increasing the lead to 2 - 0. With 33 minutes played, A. Olofsson could have brought this one home for Marelius as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. A well placed corner kick from R. Lindsey was followed by T. Reiersen's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Marelius, the score now 3 - 0. After this, you could see that the players of Marelius were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Marelius, with 78 percent of the ball.

The score became 4 - 0 at 53 minutes into the game, when Marelius were given a penalty which R. Lindsey blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Marelius's O. Reiersen was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 77 minutes. After 79 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by O. Reiersen might have resulted in another goal for Marelius. However, S. Selquist made a spectacular save. Marelius solidified their lead at the 87 minute mark, as R. Lindsey dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 5 - 0. Possession in this half belonged to Marelius, who controlled the ball 75 percent of the time.

Marelius's top performer was clearly R. Pfeffer. On the other hand, P. Bahnsen's play was disheartening. Most important G.O.B.T. player was Z. Chung Ming. S. Selquist was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 0.
