(331751268)

18-05-2011 19.00
It was an exceptionally sunny day for the crowd of 62642 that came out to
WoodsBank.
Mansur Rabadi was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Isaac Abdala and
Forest Kewell.
Wheelsbridge tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Murgia - Soare, Lifhult, Stabel - Schilcher, Heugel, Valverde, Toresson, Kallinger - Bäuerle, Morin.
Tjecko started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
Lineup: Costantini - García-Drake, Palma, Krag - Grigoletto, Hedhult, Tobiasson, Häggerberg, Sonnenberg-Lippert - Graffi, Hulthall.
Tjecko clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 12 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
M. Bäuerle, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
Tjecko's
M. Grigoletto got himself booked for a foul.
H. Morin of Wheelsbridge had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
B. Contador came in to finish the match.
A great save by keeper
E. Costantini after 15 minutes kept the visitors in the game after
P. Lifhult struck from the left with a real cannonball.
The referee showed Wheelsbridge's
T. Toresson the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
B. Contador increased the lead for Wheelsbridge to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Wheelsbridge's
P. Kallinger somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
B. Contador, who struck for 3 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Wheelsbridge were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
3 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Wheelsbridge enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 61 percent of possession.
Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Tjecko manager used a brief break in play after 60 minutes to give the players new directives.
As the game started to slip away for Tjecko, the manager decided to change the tactical approach.
The Tjecko coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy.
P. Hulthall didn't pace himself at all, and after a series of daring offensive runs he was too tired to help out in the defensive play.
With 81 minutes played,
S. Schilcher of Wheelsbridge fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
P. Lifhult had a fantastic opportunity to put Wheelsbridge up another goal 83 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
M. Bäuerle enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again.
With 89 minutes played,
B. Contador could have brought this one home for Wheelsbridge as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
P. Lifhult could have increased the lead after 89 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
Tjecko's
R. Palma refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 89 minutes.
Possession in this half belonged to Wheelsbridge, who controlled the ball 62 percent of the time.
Wheelsbridge's top performer was clearly
M. Bäuerle.
N. Soare was a disappointment, however.
The most dominating Tjecko player was without a doubt
A. Graffi.
W. Sonnenberg-Lippert on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 0.
