Clouds darkened the skies at BEAN CIRCUS as 477 spectators turned up for the match. Ritchie Swaffin-Smith was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Domenik Kieselbach and Martin Martin. S.S.CAVE decided to use a 5-4-1 set up. Starters: Sette - Arvilahti, Ledžius, Lemaire, Štejnar, Mehru - Chiavini, Lind, Raucci, Paiva - Amitrani.

D.D.R. started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. Lineup: Selvig - Minarelli, Lanhoso, Asta - Voigt, Mineri, Terrin, Cherchi - Boutchichi, Mida, Magliacane.

S.S.CAVE mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of D.D.R.. 8 minutes into the game, W. Lemaire had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came C. Vertemati. The S.S.CAVE captaincy was handed to E. Mehru. With 13 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of S.S.CAVE resulted in a counterattack that set H. Paiva free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when T. Boutchichi was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 30 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! After 31 minutes S.S.CAVE's A. Amitrani limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue. After 33 minutes, the S.S.CAVE coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving E. Raucci off the field. A. Firuz took his place. 44 minutes into the game, S.S.CAVE wanted to bring some new energy to their game. A. Amitrani gave G. Tambini a quick hug as he left the field. 0 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by S.S.CAVE, with 52 percent of the ball.

C. Cherchi of D.D.R. was able to make an impressive rush past the sluggish P. Arvilahti, which resulted in a goal making the score 0 - 1. 48 minutes into the match, N. Magliacane came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. S.S.CAVE put pressure on the visitors' central defence 64 minutes into the game, but H. Paiva couldn't find an opening. When H. Paiva left the game because of a back injury after 66 minutes, S.S.CAVE had to continue a man short due to there being no available replacements. S.S.CAVE had most of the ball, with 60 percent of possession.

S.S.CAVE's best player was C. Vertemati. On the other hand, K. Lind's play was disheartening. D.D.R.'s top performer was clearly N. Magliacane. J. Selvig was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
