Busuioc took his place. 1 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Diamantul substitution. H. Georgescu came on for H. Burlacu. It wasn't a pretty goal, but the free kick by V. Savu after 13 minutes somehow found its way past the keeper. Diamantul takes the lead, 1 - 0! With 15 minutes played, Diamantul put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to N. Abrudan, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Diamantul's N. Abrudan saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 35 minutes. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Diamantul, with 61 percent of the ball.

Things were going to get worse for the visitors. N. Abrudan squirmed through their central defence after 47 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. By now, the players in Diamantul felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. N. Abrudan left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 51 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. L. Cumpănaşu was the replacement. The home crowd was silenced as T. Bordei took a successful penalty shot 54 minutes into the game, reducing the home lead to 3 - 1. Diamantul managed to extend their lead to 4 - 1 when C. Háda cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. After 82 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by C. Háda might have resulted in another goal for Diamantul. However, B. Filieux made a spectacular save. Diamantul increased the lead as R. Busuioc struck to make the score 5 - 1 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Things were deteriorating for the away team as Diamantul scored another to make it 6 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for V. Savu after 86 minutes.
