Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 12000 to
Aborr.
Hanns-Walter Santen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Iwan van Lammeren and
Florent Sigriz.
Ofian started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Starters: Mendelboim - Asayag, Revivo, Tshuva, Siani - Burg, Avron, Shacham, Mandel - Dror, Werner.
balbalim tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination.
The following players took the field: Danino - Korvenoja, Kalmykov, Argov, Elkins, Givati - Ashkenazi, Kook, Regev, Tur - Apel.
The visiting
C. Regev was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 7 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score.
Ofian's
A. Shacham was shown a yellow card after 13 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
The referee signalled a penalty 31 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
P. Kalmykov knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2.
S. Kook could have put his team up another goal 32 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post.
balbalim increased their lead after 33 minutes when
M. Elkins broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
After this, you could see that the players of balbalim were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
I. Ashkenazi got himself booked. The manager of balbalim was not happy.
0 - 3 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by balbalim, with 69 percent of the ball.
The balbalim players could smell victory in the air.
C. Regev wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
A. Pinkerton after 59 minutes.
O. Argov left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 60 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
T. Shmilovich was the replacement.
Some fine movement on the left led to a balbalim goal after 65 minutes, making it 0 - 4.
A. Pinkerton was noted down as the scorer.
I. Ashkenazi wanted to play on, but the balbalim coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 70 minutes into the game by
J. Kaleniecki.
A. Shacham behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 73 minutes as he gave the ball away to
E. Tur. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
The home crowd cheered when, after 79 minutes,
M. Elkins's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
M. Mandel from Ofian a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
A drive down the left side allowed
F. Apel to get in close and score another goal for balbalim after 81 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 5.
The visitors'
A. Givati took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 84 minutes into the match. 0 - 6 for balbalim.
balbalim enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 75 percent of possession.
Ofian's top performer was clearly
A. Shacham.
Y. Mendelboim on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important balbalim player was
M. Elkins.
A. Givati was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 6.
