Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 34000 at Azul Arena today. Victor Neamtu was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Serban Naghi and Łukasz Wojtal. Everyone was excited about the upcoming Lombardia derby and the crowd was divided evenly. Latino started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Kaiella. 6 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Latino to take the lead after a good cross from the right found G. Maróti alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. E. Marchi knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 0 - 1 after 12 minutes. 27 minutes into the game, R. Morillo came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. S. De Cecco of Latino seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 1 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by S. Hikipää. Many thought X. De Almeida ought to have been awarded a penalty 36 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around A. Jordo after a determined run through the middle. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Latino had most of the ball, with 71 percent of possession.

Kaiella almost scored after a swift counterattack 57 minutes into the game, but G. Avesio put the shot from the left flank just outside the goal. Some great play up the middle by Latino led to a chance for H. Shajarian to score after 85 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar. Possession in this half belonged to Latino, who controlled the ball 76 percent of the time.

The most dominating Latino player was without a doubt G. Maróti. M. Kallas turned in a dismal performance, however. Kaiella's best player was E. Marchi. E. Festini on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 1 - 1.
