previous 8/10 next 10/10  Calabrias 0 - 3 Malibù (366303063)

Clear skies welcomed the 16215 spectators who had made their way to Isaac Stadium. Fabio Fadda was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Lundhby and Raphael Gromann. Calabrias had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Armandi - Canobio, Klauz, Vourlos - de Bie, Alberto, Bandur, Castro, Kvarnbratt - Candales, Datcu.

Malibù tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. They fielded: Payet - Dobre, Brighetti, Antxustegi, Hulbój - Helzer, Beoni, Brito Nunes, Campamà - van Schaffelaer, Kociszewski.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for Calabrias. The crowd was amused as F. Brito Nunes of Malibù used a few interesting tricks and dribbles to get into the penalty box. The finish by E. Helzer wasn't very amusing, however, as the ball flew way over the crossbar. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when F. Brito Nunes slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against C. Armandi, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. L. de Bie was very close to giving Calabrias the lead with an ingenious free kick routine 31 minutes into the match, but the ball just grazed the bar. 33 minutes of the match played, and a comedy of errors by the home side gave the visitors a chance at the lead, but R. van Schaffelaer, after finding himself dashing down on goal from the left with only the keeper to beat, sliced his shot horribly wide. The terraces were silenced after 34 minutes when Malibù's E. Helzer put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Malibù enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.

R. Castro wasn't fit enough for a full game and made several mistakes out of sheer exhaustion. One of them was exploited by F. Brito Nunes who shot home to make it 0 - 2. A drive down the left side allowed R. van Schaffelaer to get in close and score another goal for Malibù after 79 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Malibù, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.

C. Armandi performed admirably for Calabrias. A. Alberto was a disappointment, however. Most important Malibù player was F. Brito Nunes. R. van Schaffelaer on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 3.
