(366437582)

21-04-2012 12.55
The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 20876 had shown up at
Aston Bidda Arena for the match.
Irvin Estland was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hans Bredstål and
Sebastian Caramitru.
A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Aston.
They fielded: Magnusson - Gaias, Gaias - Maestripieri, Calò, Chak, Mondini, Montalti - Fresu, Ardilla, Ciuffo.
ZooTravian tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Starters: Medina - Manfredini, Macukas, Studeník, Scabini - Manunta, Igüeldo, Garcia, Ceccaroni - Mercy, Tannenschlag.
The wings were the focus of most of ZooTravian's attacks today.
Aston made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
A. Maestripieri completely alone with keeper
I. Medina, who made a spectacular block.
Down the middle came
C. Ceccaroni, making a fantastic play that nearly had ZooTravian take the lead after 8 minutes, but
L. Magnusson preserved the tie.
Aston took the lead after 23 minutes as a result of
A. Maestripieri's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0.
24 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
D. Ciuffo broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Aston.
ZooTravian's
C. Ceccaroni left the field after 27 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
S. Rossi.
Aston solidified their lead at the 32 minute mark, as
R. Ardilla dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0.
Aston had most of the ball, with 78 percent of possession.
Aston's
D. Ciuffo had an excellent opportunity after 48 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
G. Gaias unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Cheers filled the stadium as
D. Ciuffo broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Aston.
After 59 minutes,
M. Montalti put Aston ahead 5 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
The players of Aston now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
Although the whole team were struggling to impress, ZooTravian's
J. Tannenschlag was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes.
S. Paz was given a chance to change things around.
Coming from the right,
T. Calò almost managed to score another goal for Aston, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
Possession in this half belonged to Aston, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.
Aston's top performer was clearly
M. Mondini.
On the other hand,
L. Magnusson's play was disheartening.
G. Igüeldo performed admirably for ZooTravian.
However,
S. Rossi made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 5 - 0.
