(367347810)

12-05-2012 14.00
43190 spectators arrived at
Valderas Coliseum, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Barlas Akkın was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Arto Teravainen and
Zygfryd Kajtowski.
Zoilo decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Trzaskalik - Schopf, Raßler, Vermezović - Saltarelli, Paulín, Van Hout, Grimaldi, Derosi - Sarmanho, Taddei.
SocKeRs had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
They fielded: Latte - Šedina, Weisssteiner, Rico Reyes - Henao, Mota Pacheco, Cambra, Montalvo Galán, Mallofré - Flamarich, Danko.
SocKeRs were mostly trying to use their skill at attacking on the flanks.
5 minutes into the game, SocKeRs wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
A. Weisssteiner gave
N. Pena a quick hug as he left the field.
The terraces were silenced after 5 minutes when SocKeRs's
F. Danko put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right.
With 16 minutes played, SocKeRs put themselves up 0 - 2 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
C. Flamarich.
With 25 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
J. Cambra of SocKeRs to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 3.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
G. Mallofré from SocKeRs a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 29 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
R. Grimaldi of Zoilo had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game.
P. Hyblom came in to finish the match.
The home crowd was given a certain amount of consolation when
T. Schopf scored after a brilliant midfield combination through the centre, reducing the lead to 1 - 3.
34 minutes into the game a free kick by
N. Pena found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making SocKeRs's lead 1 - 4.
1 - 4 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SocKeRs, with 60 percent of the ball.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the SocKeRs coach let
S. Call replace
J. Montalvo Galán after 46 minutes.
M. Mota Pacheco increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 5.
By now, the players in SocKeRs felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
After 57 minutes
S. Sarmanho could have reduced the lead with a blistering strike from the left wing, had it not been for an excellent block by the visitors' keeper.
N. Pena increased SocKeRs's lead to 1 - 6 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner.
With the scoreboard showing that 62 minutes had been played, SocKeRs nearly put themselves up another goal after
G. Mallofré came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
F. Danko wanted to play on, but the SocKeRs coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by
Á. Garrido.
SocKeRs claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 60 percent.
Zoilo's best player was
S. Sarmanho.
However,
P. Hyblom made a disastrous appearance.
M. Mota Pacheco performed admirably for SocKeRs.
Á. Garrido turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 1 - 6.
