Blunden increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3. The crowd groaned when F. Machát, having maneuvered his way down the right, fired the ball just wide and missed a great opportunity to reduce the deficit for 1903. After 71 minutes, the defensive line of Viet cong created a counterattack through the middle that gave W. Schawand a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, F. Briand got himself booked. The manager of 1903 was not happy. A penalty was missed by Viet cong's B. Tate 74 minutes into the match. Probably overconfident, he blasted a hard shot miles outside of the left post. W. Schawand left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 80 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. A. Vass was the replacement. Possession was split evenly between the teams.
