Samorense mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Lords used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to S. Kuyper, but the Samorense player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in Lords's M. Tyunyakov equaliser for 1 - 1 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position. Lords were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally. They were singing the praises of C. Sánchez 37 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 2 - 1 to Samorense. An equalising goal seemed certain after 39 minutes when L. Quéant attacked down the left wing, but O. Myrbakk just managed to make a save to keep the ball out of the net. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Samorense, who controlled the ball 61 percent of the time.

Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Lords manager used a brief break in play after 46 minutes to give the players new directives. After 46 minutes, Lords used a short break in the game to take new instructions from their coach. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Samorense to 3 - 1 as S. Trandafir finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After 60 minutes, Lords switched E. Stănescu with A. Carriço, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Lords's S. Brøndbo was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 60 minutes. G. Jahl was given a chance to change things around. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, S. Trandafir got himself booked. The manager of Samorense was not happy. Samorense put themselves up 4 - 1 when S. Kuyper broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. C. Streifeneder could have increased the lead after 68 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. A bit later, Lords's V. Murga easily reduced the lead to 4 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. S. Kolev increased the lead for Samorense to 5 - 2, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! Samorense enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 54 percent of possession.

The most dominating Samorense player was without a doubt C. Sánchez. On the other hand, O. Myrbakk's play was disheartening. Lords's top performer was clearly V. Murga. M. Tyunyakov was a disappointment, however. The match ends 5 - 2.
