28-03-2012 10.15
Clear skies welcomed the 4153 spectators who had made their way to
Aleksandar Arena.
Olivier Abersek was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Darrick Zamora and
Matteo Zagato.
ALEX had chosen a strategic 5-4-1 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Kantor - Chilimanov, Dolganov, Siljanovski, Olczak, Suomaa - Kolin, Schwarzschild, Norli, Grenner - Nica.
Red Devils decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
The following players took the field: bin Jaafar - Jin Hui, Bento, Yun Chang, bin Ahmad Mokshinon - bin Nordin, Yi Leng, Ansari, Jain - Mukhlis, bin Tuan Shaari.
Red Devils showed off their creative tactics.
M. Kolin caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 5 minutes. This gave ALEX the 1 - 0 lead.
23 minutes in, Red Devils appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
passable.
After 25 minutes,
N. Grenner put ALEX ahead 2 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing.
34 minutes into the match
G. Nica put ALEX ahead 3 - 0 with a truly marvelous free kick.
The players of ALEX now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
G. Nica should probably have put his team up another goal after 42 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
U. bin Jaafar kept the visitors in the game.
44 minutes into the game, Red Devils had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to
inadequate.

C. Abadziev was the replacement.
N. Grenner wanted to play on, but the ALEX coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by
V. Traub.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the ALEX coach let
T. Jonasson replace
I. Schwarzschild after 46 minutes.
After 55 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Red Devils found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to
weak.
C. Abadziev knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 4 - 0 after 81 minutes.
ALEX's
V. Traub was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
G. Nica managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 5 - 0 after 82 minutes.
ALEX had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.
Most important ALEX player was
G. Nica.
However,
H. Suomaa made a disastrous appearance.

On the other hand,
L. Bento's play was disheartening.
The match ends 5 - 0.
