previous 9/10 next 1/10  HEINRICH 6 - 3 Békéscsaba (378132998)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 90000 to Arwen. Carlo Perotti was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Samuel Freijomil and Baldo Boi. HEINRICH decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Lineup: Kapus - Rocha, Melazzini, Leystra - Caneças, Matisons, Manana, Ponzecchi, Bertoša - Ratzebürg, Lónyay.

Békéscsaba tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. They fielded: Négyesi - Yasin, Mészáros - Cser, Bárdos, Suhe, Zoltán, Bentz - Kövecses, Chiara, Gichonga.

HEINRICH showed off their creative tactics. Békéscsaba mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. HEINRICH took the lead 8 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as L. Ponzecchi elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of HEINRICH to 2 - 0 as J. Rocha finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. Békéscsaba kept trying to force their way through on the right side and F. Chiara got his chance after 19 minutes, but the home side's defence held their position and stopped the attack. L. Ponzecchi increased HEINRICH's lead to 3 - 0 with a penalty spot cannonball. The players of HEINRICH now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. Békéscsaba had to make a substitution after 27 minutes. F. Bentz limped off the field and was replaced by H. Yngvesson. V. Mészáros of Békéscsaba seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 3 - 1 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by F. Chiara. With 36 minutes played, M. Bertoša could have brought this one home for HEINRICH as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high. The away team improved the scoreline to 3 - 2, as V. Mészáros struck home, set up well by a play on the left 37 minutes into the match. With 39 minutes played, the Békéscsaba coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. Z. Szarka came on, A. Yasin had to leave the fray. 3 - 2 was the score after the first half. Békéscsaba had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

P. Leystra left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. I. Németh was the replacement. Békéscsaba had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks. Békéscsaba tied it all up, 48 minutes in, after a spectacular goal by V. Mészáros, who miraculously broke through the home side's central defence, making it 3 - 3. This third goal completed a hattrick for V. Mészáros. 59 minutes into the game, Békéscsaba wanted to bring some new energy to their game. F. Chiara gave G. Zubizarreta a quick hug as he left the field. M. Bertoša would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. I. Baticz entered the game for HEINRICH as the match clock showed 60 minutes. HEINRICH took the lead after 62 minutes as a result of L. Ponzecchi's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 4 - 3. By then L. Ponzecchi had scored three goals - a hat trick! It was obvious that team Békéscsaba had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. 87 minutes into the match, HEINRICH's H. Ratzebürg demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to E. Lónyay who chipped it in for 5 - 3. With 88 minutes played, HEINRICH put themselves up 6 - 3 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to I. Baticz, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

HEINRICH's best player was H. Ratzebürg. B. Kapus turned in a dismal performance, however. K. Bárdos performed admirably for Békéscsaba. H. Yngvesson on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 6 - 3.
