previous 5/10 next 7/10  Salsasio 0 - 0 Disney (378201722)

Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 794 at Olimpico di Salsasio today. Haryton Novikau was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gigi Buffon and Mohammed Kroese. Salsasio had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Bonaminio - Marcelli, Sellami, Tracca - Simontacchi, Nõmmeots, Lanci, da Arnela, Carmellini - Slepniovas, Gigio.

A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for Disney. They fielded: Arrobbio - Pilla, Villet, Kristensen, Fattor - Badocchi, Laurenzio, Baragli, De Tommaso, Calvaruso - Scimè.

Disney saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Salsasio's E. Nõmmeots had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 22 minutes having been played. E. Castro was the replacement. After 33 minutes Salsasio's M. Sellami contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. Good work by the Disney defensive line after 41 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found M. Pilla alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Pilla from Disney a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 42 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Halftime score was 0 - 0. Salsasio enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.

As the 46 minute mark approached, the Disney coach decided it was time for a substitution. V. Arrobbio reluctantly made way for L. Imbalzano on the pitch. M. Galeota was called on to replace Disney's A. Baragli after 52 minutes following a nasty collision. P. Badocchi was handed the Disney captain's armband. 53 minutes into the game, Disney wanted to bring some new energy to their game. E. Fattor gave G. Cosenza a quick hug as he left the field. 89 minutes into the match Disney's M. Galeota head butted an opponent nastily, and so the referee sent him off immediately. Salsasio had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

Salsasio's best player was C. Simontacchi. V. Slepniovas was a disappointment, however. Most important Disney player was P. Badocchi. On the other hand, D. De Tommaso's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 0.
