Clouds darkened the skies at foolad shahr stadium as 2618 spectators turned up for the match. ahan took the lead 50 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as R. Merino elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. With 67 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience, T. Ghomeyshi needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed. The home side's T. Ghomeyshi came close to extending the lead 77 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but B. Pereira Gouveia managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. ahan's D. Baghi swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. ahan had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

N. Milani performed admirably for ahan. E. Gilbert turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating PEI player was without a doubt L. Arzápalo. On the other hand, N. Uznayo's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 0.
