1746 punters turned up at
SakuraSushi Futebol Arena, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Mario Alberto Rodríguez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Heiko Baerensprung and
Magnus Persson.
SakuraSushi had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Lineup: Sadlowski - Roever, Baena, Huhtimo - Mota Bastos, Carlsen, Paraguaio, Galante, Filomeno - Ferreira, Piccini.
ANDRIOLO tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Lucassen - Zemolin, Penápolis, Mészöly - Hasar, Aquino, Caputo, Cunha Leite, Fernandes - Lobinho, Moreno.
SakuraSushi used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
They were singing the praises of
S. Huhtimo 3 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to SakuraSushi.
E. Lyhne was called on to replace ANDRIOLO's
K. Aquino after 9 minutes following a nasty collision.
E. Lyhne was the new captain of ANDRIOLO - handed the armband by the departing player.
SakuraSushi were determined to attack in the middle, even their wing attacks ended up centrally.
After 16 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
L. Paraguaio might have resulted in another goal for SakuraSushi. However,
M. Lucassen made a spectacular save.
After 29 minutes SakuraSushi's
M. Sadlowski contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for SakuraSushi, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
ANDRIOLO mounted an inspired counterattack down the right wing after 41 minutes, but
E. Lyhne was unable to convert from short range.
The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 0.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SakuraSushi, with 67 percent of the ball.
L. Paraguaio could have increased the lead after 49 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
It was obvious that team SakuraSushi had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings.
SakuraSushi solidified their lead at the 54 minute mark, as
L. Paraguaio dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0.
Confident in their lead, SakuraSushi's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
SakuraSushi's
L. Piccini saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 74 minutes.
The coach of SakuraSushi was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 76 minutes,
S. Nunes came on for
L. Piccini.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
E. Hasar from ANDRIOLO a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 76 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
After 77 minutes,
J. Ferreira sent the corner kick right to
A. Mota Bastos who headed it sharply past the keeper. 3 - 0!
SakuraSushi enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 70 percent of possession.
R. Carlsen performed admirably for SakuraSushi.
On the other hand,
S. Galante's play was disheartening.
Most important ANDRIOLO player was
G. Mészöly.
E. Lyhne on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 0.
