3680 spectators had come to Pride Park this cloudy day. Guido Lucarini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Lucijan Luk and Ruud van Riel. Demolition had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Farrelly - O'Connor, Chovanec, Pauly - Douglas, Andrieux, Mustard, Baden, Smith - Erskine, Meredith.

Lechtaler tactics involved an interesting 5-4-1 combination. They fielded: De Penarande De Franchimont - Wettengel, Moca, Malatyinszki, Mićović, Irlbauer - Ambrož, Juszczak, Magiera, Rübenkamp - Dieben.

The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to J. Erskine, but the Demolition player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0! The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 18 minutes, Z. Ambrož broke through the centre and found himself alone with the keeper. D. Farrelly made a great block, though. Demolition's F. Andrieux got himself booked for a foul. Lechtaler were worse off though, as Z. Ambrož was unable to finish the game and no more substitutes were available! With 35 minutes gone, Demolition had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, A. Meredith did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, R. Irlbauer got himself booked. The manager of Lechtaler was not happy. Cheers filled the stadium as A. Meredith broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Demolition. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Demolition had most of the ball, with 65 percent of possession.

M. Smith should probably have put his team up another goal after 49 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by E. De Penarande De Franchimont kept the visitors in the game. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Wettengel from Lechtaler a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 52 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! Demolition's D. Farrelly left the field after 56 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was T. Haalboom. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, T. Haalboom took over the role of being the Demolition captain. The referee showed Demolition's A. Meredith the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. I. Chovanec could have put Demolition up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 66 minutes. The crowd roared its approval when T. Haalboom somehow managed to block a shot which seemed to be a certain goal by Lechtaler's V. Dieben 67 minutes into the game. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Demolition's R. O'Connor increasing the lead to 3 - 0. A late sliding challenge from A. Meredith was deemed to be his second yellow card offence by the referee, resulting in him being sent off, and Demolition left a man down. The score became 4 - 0 at 81 minutes into the game, when Demolition were given a penalty which V. Pauly blasted straight down the middle giving the keeper no chance! Confident in their lead, Demolition's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. 84 minutes in, Demolition's J. Erskine received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. Possession in this half belonged to Demolition, who controlled the ball 63 percent of the time.

V. Pauly performed admirably for Demolition. T. Haalboom on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Lechtaler player was without a doubt V. Dieben. M. Malatyinszki turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
