previous 7/10 next 9/10  Olsen 6 - 0 pilsley (379948370)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 3322 to Olsen Power Arena. Nicolau Rasilla was the appointed referee with assistance provided by David Gristow and Antonio Posada. A 2-5-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Olsen. Lineup: Axelsen - Appel Andersen, Sønderby - Bøndergaard, Kalhøj, Serup-Nørgaard, Haubjerg Scharling, Lindgaard - Hansson, Flyvbjerg, Adsersen.

pilsley tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Cusack - Eden, Bradle, Schaeffera, Lutchmiah - Zanin, Grigore, Racolţa, Franklin - Harrison, Amine.

For their match strategy, pilsley had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. With the match clock at 1 minutes, pilsley modified their style of play a little bit. After 9 minutes, P. Hansson came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Olsen the lead. Cheers filled the stadium as G. Adsersen broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Olsen. U. Flyvbjerg could have put Olsen up one more, but he fired into the side netting after breaking free on the left after 16 minutes. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 25 minutes, Olsen did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, A. Haubjerg Scharling was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 0. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Olsen lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Olsen's P. Hansson left the field after 27 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was K. Bindslev. The sun seemed to put T. Racolţa in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. Olsen's K. Bindslev swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. 3 - 0 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Olsen, with 87 percent of the ball.

B. Appel Andersen unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide. After 79 minutes a well-practised indirect free kick routine by Olsen was easily anticipated by the defenders. The players forward were so well marked, they were left with few viable options. The coach of Olsen was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 80 minutes, O. Toft Nielsen came on for B. Appel Andersen. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, U. Axelsen took over the role of being the Olsen captain. Olsen's P. Sønderby was shown a yellow card after 80 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Olsen managed to extend their lead to 4 - 0 when A. Haubjerg Scharling cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. R. Amine wasn't much help defensively. His energy-consuming forward runs proved quite costly in the oppressive heat. 86 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as G. Adsersen broke through, making the score 5 - 0 for Olsen. With 87 minutes played, A. Zanin of pilsley fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Olsen increased the lead as O. Toft Nielsen struck to make the score 6 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Olsen coach let O. Bomholdt replace G. Adsersen after 89 minutes. Olsen claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 88 percent.

Olsen's top performer was clearly U. Axelsen. K. Bindslev was a disappointment, however. pilsley's best player was R. Amine. However, J. Cusack made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 0.
