Dark skies made the crowd of 4244 at la chaume a little nervous, but the rain held off. Viggo Stolberg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Rob Wallace and Romain Vert. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Shining. The following players took the field: Deitz - Pintassilvo, Schöniger, Oltmans - Mirică, Charlet, Goulay, Le Goff, Floquet - Fjeld, Krušlin.

Shining took the lead 22 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. D. Floquet was the scorer. After 23 minutes, Shining's S. Oltmans burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. G. Dias got a fingertip on J. Krušlin's shot from the left 26 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when S. Biteil tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. M. Deitz was too alert for that! With 34 minutes played, M. Monvoisin of digoin fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Some fine movement on the left led to a Shining goal after 35 minutes, making it 0 - 3. S. Oltmans was noted down as the scorer. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Schöniger from Shining a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A drive down the left side allowed J. Krušlin to get in close and score another goal for Shining after 40 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 4. By now, the players in Shining felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Shining, with 63 percent of the ball.

With 57 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed H. Pintassilvo of Shining to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 5. The home keeper was stunned 64 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by G. Charlet and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 6. Some lightning fast two foot dribbles by Ş. Mirică left T. Blaison way behind after 83 minutes, but the shot was just wide. J. Krušlin came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over G. Dias but overcooked it and hit the bar instead. With 84 minutes having been played, his teammates looked on in disbelief as F. Le Goff thoughtlessly misplayed the ball, setting up digoin's M. Burger for an easy goal. 1 - 6. There was concern in the stands when, at the 85 minute mark, digoin's M. Burger hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 86 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 1 - 7 as G. Charlet finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Shining claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 64 percent.

M. Burger performed admirably for digoin. G. Dias on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating Shining player was without a doubt Y. Fjeld. M. Deitz was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 7.
