19982 fans braved the pouring rain at Dream Arena. Rolef Bliesransbach was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Per Hörmo and Joseph Eger. Saltys tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Mititelu - Felino, Veum, Kahmen - Văn Khánh, Vancea, Paşcu, Trullols, Bumbescu - Allegra, Wauters.

With 17 minutes played A. Wauters almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Saltys had a chance to take the lead after A. Wauters's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 22 minutes. Saltys created a good opportunity to score 23 minutes into the match when A. Allegra's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. F. Butel, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass. After a fine move down the middle N. Văn Khánh nearly gave the home side a goal after 31 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. The visitors could have taken the lead from a free kick after 35 minutes, if it wasn't for the jaw-dropping save by P. Mititelu. Many thought N. Văn Khánh ought to have been awarded a penalty 40 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around F. Focardi after a determined run through the middle. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 0. Saltys claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 56 percent.

The guests took the lead 52 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in T. Capone scoring to make it 0 - 1. With 70 minutes played, the Saltys coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around. M. Răbulea came on, A. Allegra had to leave the fray. After 74 minutes, G. Paşcu got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away. 82 minutes into the game, P. Trullols came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Saltys, with 59 percent of the ball.

A. Wauters performed admirably for Saltys. P. Mititelu on the other hand, had a terrible day. ACDM's best player was T. Capone. N. van Baar was a disappointment, however. The match ends 0 - 1.
