25-08-2012 10.20
12000 spectators had come to
Romulania Arena this cloudy day.
Tijl Roelofs was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Erno Piiponniemi and
Sagi Yitzchaki.
Romulania decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Melato - Vădrariu, Kan, Albu - Evans, Demirtaş, Kurohiko, Mulazzani, Hemengül - Tuura, Mulier.
Ajax started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
They fielded: Cerbureanu - Bojincă, Zwiebel, Boboc, Creţu - Băluş, Crisbăşanu, Pető, Pavăl - Brânzei, Covaci.
Right from the start it was obvious that Romulania were expecting an easy victory.
Romulania fans held their breath as
C. Mulazzani scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
I. Albu should probably have put his team up another goal after 33 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
A. Cerbureanu kept the visitors in the game.
Romulania's
V. Tuura had an excellent opportunity after 37 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Romulania to 2 - 0 as
E. Demirtaş finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
39 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
E. Demirtaş broke through, making the score 3 - 0 for Romulania.
Halftime score was 3 - 0.
Romulania claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 78 percent.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 47 minute mark, Ajax's
H. Zwiebel hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
V. Tuura squirmed through their central defence after 48 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 0.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Romulania lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
Romulania managed to extend their lead to 5 - 0 when
F. Kan cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
O. Băluş from Ajax a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 58 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
In a fantastic display of determination, Romulania's
I. Albu forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down.
Cheers filled the stadium as
S. Mulier broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 6 - 0 to Romulania.
After 71 minutes Ajax's
E. Pető limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
E. Hemengül increased the lead for Romulania to 7 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Romulania's
I. Albu increasing the lead to 8 - 0.
Romulania had most of the ball, with 80 percent of possession.
The most dominating Romulania player was without a doubt
S. Mulier.
I. Albu turned in a dismal performance, however.
Ajax's best player was
A. Creţu.
However,
A. Cerbureanu made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 8 - 0.
