Clouds darkened the skies at
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Arena as 32639 spectators turned up for the match.
Javier Hadad was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Johan Höstborg and
Achille Sommerfeldt.
Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this
Attiki derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents.
ADP started off with a 5-3-2 lineup.
They fielded: Rambaldi - Esquelin, Kalapodas, Felekis, Anifantakis, Kalkounos - Hippenstiel, Mazziotti, Kirkholt - Roraima, Siegenthaler.
osfp had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: van Goethem - Santella, Figueiredo Jesus, Tayaldi - Undurraga, Drachgschwandter, Liński, Kolos, Bergamaschi - Marre, Díaz.
Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for ADP.
osfp's
J. Marre gave the visitors a 0 - 1 lead after 2 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
T. Kalapodas got himself booked. The manager of ADP was not happy.
After 13 minutes, ADP surprised their opponents with a breakaway counter attack. The defenders had to resort to a foul to stop it. The free kick that followed was a clever indirect effort that almost succeeded, but the defence read the situation well and the intended recipient was left ruing what might have been.
T. Kalkounos knocked one home from a counterattack down the right wing, making the score 1 - 1 after 20 minutes.
1 - 1 was the halftime score.
osfp claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.
The corner kick from
K. Esquelin was powerfully met by the head of
F. Mazziotti to make the score 2 - 1.
The visiting team's
W. Liński was able to score the 2 - 2 equaliser with a header 53 minutes into the match, after some good work on the right.
A counterattack by ADP after 62 minutes could have resulted in a goal, but
Q. Siegenthaler, coming in on the left, couldn't get the shot off.
With 67 minutes played,
D. Anifantakis of ADP fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when
J. Drachgschwandter slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against
R. Rambaldi, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes.
With 69 minutes gone,
Q. Siegenthaler suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by ADP caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring.
S. Felekis's lack of experience almost gave osfp a goal after 73 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms.
Some great play up the middle by ADP led to a chance for
L. Roraima to score after 78 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
88 minutes into the match, osfp nearly took the lead, as
E. Díaz broke through on the right.
R. Rambaldi made the save, however.
The terraces were silenced after 89 minutes when osfp's
W. Liński put the guests ahead 2 - 3, following an attack on the right.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by osfp, with 63 percent of the ball.
ADP's best player was
L. Roraima.
T. Kalapodas turned in a dismal performance, however.
E. Díaz performed admirably for osfp.
However,
R. van Goethem made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 3.
