previous 1/10 next 3/10  Pechs 4 - 0 Stagnese (381738323)

A scorching day at Picenum Park, where 23316 spectators were in place for today's match. Orla Andersen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Māris Liepa and Wojciech Ostachowski. Pechs decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. The following players took the field: Pacifici - Donder, Vassel, Mueller - Tarletti, Cefola, Bolettieri, Taglierini, Trincas - Mereu, Harrak.

Stagnese started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Resta - Zachař, Konopacki, Castegnero - Ralha, Grego, Herrala, Piazza, Canellas - Artuso, Anelli.

With 10 minutes played, the home side managed to get a 1 - 0 lead as E. Bolettieri flipped the ball in after a cross from the right. With 11 minutes played, G. Trincas of Pechs fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Pechs to 2 - 0 as G. Mereu finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. After this, you could see that the players of Pechs were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. After 34 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by J. Donder might have resulted in another goal for Pechs. However, A. Resta made a spectacular save. E. Bolettieri enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. With 44 minutes played, Pechs put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to T. Harrak, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Pechs enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Pechs's T. Harrak saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 47 minutes. 57 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as M. Mueller broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for Pechs. A free kick just outside of the visitors' penalty area after 66 minutes could have resulted in another goal, but A. Resta got a hand out and tipped the ball over the bar. Pechs put in a good effort on the right, but T. Harrak saw his volley fly wide of the mark 70 minutes into the game. A penalty 79 minutes into the game gave the home side a chance at adding to the score, but an overconfident T. Harrak shot the ball wide trying to put it away in the top corner. Pechs had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

Most important Pechs player was T. Harrak. P. Pacifici on the other hand, had a terrible day. Stagnese's top performer was clearly R. Canellas. On the other hand, A. Resta's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 0.
