The crowd of 17245 turning up at Mais Arena today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Tobi Bindler was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Roberto Baggio and Dick Woudenberg. F.C. tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. Lineup: Cuervo - Neudert, Riechers, Miola, Malina - Lonfernini, Kiser, Fransz, Gendre, Ferrán González - Cuendet.

RUtopia had chosen a strategic 4-3-3 formation. The following players took the field: Antal - Peppoloni, Arcellano, Scharmer, Yümni - Capão, Kollar, Beda - Pillon, Monduzzi, Greven.

RUtopia's E. Kollar managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 24 minutes. 0 - 1. The referee showed F.C.'s T. Fransz the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 38 minutes in, RUtopia's G. Pillon received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. It was 0 - 1 at the break. F.C. enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

P. Neudert behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 54 minutes as he gave the ball away to E. Greven. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. RUtopia's M. Capão was shown a yellow card after 67 minutes for slicing down an opponent. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave R. Scharmer from RUtopia a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 76 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The player down was T. Cuendet. The F.C. bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. A drive down the left side allowed E. Greven to get in close and score another goal for RUtopia after 80 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 2. S. Cuervo got a fingertip on S. Peppoloni's shot from the left 81 minutes in, and managed to keep the visitors from going up another goal. At 82 minutes into the game, F.C.'s T. Fransz deftly knocked the ball home after an impressive run down the left, reducing the visitors' lead to 1 - 2. T. Fransz knew he was in trouble after hacking down an opponent. Despite his pleading with the referee, the F.C. player was shown a second yellow card and dismissed from the game. Possession in this half belonged to RUtopia, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.

Most important F.C. player was D. Kiser. L. Lonfernini on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating RUtopia player was without a doubt M. Capão. O. Antal turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 2.
