(382970794)

30-06-2012 15.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 23589 at
Al Lloro que no estamos tan mal Arena today.
Remo Chammartin was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Florian Röhrl and
Max Wyes.
QnA! had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
Lineup: Valdés - Lindher, Craviotto, Seras, Pérez Espinosa - Martínez Blázquez, Sindl, Fíguls, Ambrogetti, Alexiev - Verplancke.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Gunners.
The following players took the field: Biancolilla - Deschamps, Stern, Zúñiga Requesens - Postelnicu, Ambrukaitis, Sancliment, Issa, Malheiro - Vicuña Oyarbide, Campmany.
Today, QnA!'s strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
It was an obvious ambition of Gunners to use their ability at attacking on the flanks.
Players in Gunners heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead.
J. Stern had a good try after 13 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide.
QnA!'s
B. Lindher got himself booked for a foul.
Making his way up the middle 16 minutes into the match,
F. Fíguls almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert
G. Biancolilla blocked it to keep the score level.
With 19 minutes played
J. Verplancke almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
QnA! fans held their breath as
R. Martínez Blázquez scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
1 - 0 was the score after the first half.
Possession in this half belonged to Gunners, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
QnA! had a magnificent opportunity after 50 minutes as
J. Verplancke hit the ball hard from the edge of the penalty box. However, the shot went wide.
The coach of QnA! was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 60 minutes,
T. Borgès came on for
A. Seras.
F. Fíguls became the new QnA! captain.
J. Verplancke wanted to play on, but the QnA! coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by
J. Enasteasu.
T. Borgès should probably have put his team up another goal after 75 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
G. Biancolilla kept the visitors in the game.
After 76 minutes QnA!'s
W. Craviotto contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
It was obvious that Gunners had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
G. Valdés's name was chanted throughout the stadium after he made a fantastic save from
K. Ambrukaitis's shot from the left 86 minutes into the match.
Gunners were close to putting the equaliser away after 87 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to
S. Postelnicu in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line.
QnA! put themselves up 2 - 0 when
B. Lindher broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Gunners's
J. Campmany refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 89 minutes.
QnA! enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.
QnA!'s best player was
R. Sindl.
T. Borgès turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Gunners player was
K. Ambrukaitis.
However,
G. Biancolilla made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 2 - 0.
