(383246450)

14-07-2012 15.45
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 9445 at
Boldano Arena today.
Yasar Abbas was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Marc Bernstein and
Adam Umkehrer-Neudeck.
Boldano started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
Lineup: Emasabel - Mota, Lelieveld, Grabulosa - Petrovan, Kulik, Grimaux, Serra - Gorzelski, Əliyev, Eriksson.
Cocolina tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Gäcke - van Rijn, Cabanell, Zamora, Lo Bianco Corrado - Lončić, Karchutňák, Barseghyan, Martinel - Manoilov, Calabuig.
Boldano clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
Today, Cocolina's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Boldano took the lead 2 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as
J. Serra elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar.
Cocolina will have to do without
R. Karchutňák for a time, due to a bad foot injury at the 24 minute mark. He was substituted by
D. Piñero.
Boldano put themselves up 2 - 0 when
C. Mota broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
The players of Boldano now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
The home side's
L. Kulik came close to extending the lead 28 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but
M. Gäcke managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop.
With 30 minutes played, Boldano put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
J. Serra, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
It was 3 - 0 at the break.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Boldano, with 63 percent of the ball.
Cocolina needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 58 minutes
A. Lončić made way for
I. Peša.
Cheers filled the stadium as
Ə. Əliyev broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 0 to Boldano.
T. Grabulosa had a fantastic opportunity to put Boldano up another goal 82 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar.
With 82 minutes played,
C. Mota could have brought this one home for Boldano as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
The bench was restless, and with 86 minutes passed Cocolina's coach gave
V. Bilbao Ubillos the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
A. Cabanell reluctantly left the field.
Boldano claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 63 percent.
Boldano's best player was
K. Gorzelski.
J. Serra on the other hand, had a terrible day.
D. Piñero performed admirably for Cocolina.
I. Peša turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
