The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 11161 had shown up at
Las Viñas for the match.
Lars Gunnar Hörnsjö was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Tammo Holwerda and
Žarko Krneta.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for SanBartolomé.
Lineup: Parada - Murgó, Ortiz el Mozo, Moisescu, Gatell - Riba, Martín Domínguez, Valenzuela Acuña, Abadou - Díaz, Escuer.
Inazuma started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Calzada - Piñel Ceballos, Espinós, Ladrero, Cuadra - Fonz, Iribago, Magraner, Pardo - Bigas, Estébanez.
With 11 minutes played
P. Martín Domínguez almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide.
After a fine move down the middle
M. Moisescu nearly gave the home side a goal after 19 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide.
Given a free kick close to the byline, SanBartolomé tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
O. Escuer slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 0, 21 minutes into the game.
Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Inazuma's
A. Pardo put the ball in the onion bag after 24 minutes to make it 1 - 1.
Halftime score was 1 - 1.
SanBartolomé had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 50 minutes, SanBartolomé did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
R. Díaz was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 1.
SanBartolomé managed to extend their lead to 3 - 1 when
M. Ortiz el Mozo cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper.
By now, the players in SanBartolomé felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Coming in on the left,
E. Fonz did everything right to get a goal for Inazuma after 66 minutes, but his finishing shot was stabbed clear by the keeper.
67 minutes in,
D. Estébanez made an incredible run up the middle and nearly reduced the home side's lead, but
J. Parada refused to let the ball slip by him.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SanBartolomé, with 54 percent of the ball.
R. Díaz performed admirably for SanBartolomé.
J. Parada on the other hand, had a terrible day.
Most important Inazuma player was
A. Pardo.
On the other hand,
I. Bigas's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 1.
