Dark skies made the crowd of 31157 at Real Calzada Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off. Thankmar Kuenz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Daniel Martos and Turo Wolfer. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Calzada. The following players took the field: Hauta - Galletti, Vasiliu, Porciani - Joara, Meuter, Stompé, Rubes, van Oeveren - Mialhe, Klimczok.

Sertig had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Spina - Marret, Racalbuto, Corbí - Ewertowski, Slack, Rosenberg, Nännimäinen - Gómez, Oranguyen, Pisanetti.

The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 5 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from R. Meuter, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing. Calzada's B. Klimczok swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. The home side's F. van Oeveren came close to extending the lead 23 minutes into the game. His shot came in from the right hand side but T. Spina managed to save it with an unbelievable reaction stop. A penalty 25 minutes into the game gave the home side a chance at adding to the score, but an overconfident R. Meuter shot the ball wide trying to put it away in the top corner. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Calzada, with 57 percent of the ball.

Things were going to get worse for the visitors. B. Klimczok squirmed through their central defence after 55 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. The players of Calzada now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. L. Oranguyen sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from E. Rosenberg after 56 minutes of play, making the score 2 - 1. Calzada made it 3 - 1 as B. Klimczok got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to F. van Oeveren who whipped a low drive in off the far post. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, L. Oranguyen got himself booked. The manager of Sertig was not happy. With 79 minutes gone, Sertig's L. Oranguyen had to leave the pitch after talking back to the referee and receiving his second booking. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave S. Rubes from Calzada a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 80 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A bit later, Sertig's E. Gómez easily reduced the lead to 3 - 2 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence. S. Porciani of Calzada received a yellow card after 84 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. S. Porciani was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by S. Rubes, but the ball bounced off the post to safety. 87 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as J. Stompé broke through, making the score 4 - 2 for Calzada. The home team's fans were upset when, after 87 minutes, the visiting J. Nännimäinen broke through the central defence and kicked the ball past the keeper. 4 - 3 was the score. Calzada had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

B. Klimczok performed admirably for Calzada. However, G. Galletti made a disastrous appearance. Most important Sertig player was E. Rosenberg. J. Nännimäinen was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 3.
