Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 13915 at Arena Pinto da Costa today. Diether Dinauer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Raúl Rodríguez and Stefan Mathiasson. PintodaCosta had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. PintodaCosta mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for ADFV. 18 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for PintodaCosta to take the lead after a good cross from the right found A. Strauss alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. R. Luberti of ADFV was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. PintodaCosta could have put themselves ahead after 25 minutes but O. Ramos Correia missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. It was 0 - 0 at the break. PintodaCosta enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

Making his way up the middle 57 minutes into the match, H. Raposo almost managed to squeeze a goal past the visitors' keeper, but the alert F. Krashi blocked it to keep the score level. After 65 minutes, the ADFV coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving V. Nunes off the field. B. Lérias took his place. 72 minutes in, ADFV's P.
