59422 punters turned up at
슬아놀이터, and despite threatening clouds on the horizon, no rain came.
Luke von Breitungen was the appointed referee.
The derby had been the talk of
Seoul all week and fans of both teams could be seen throughout the stadium.
Jinzerg started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Karaban - Lee, Shin, Byon - Moon, Lee, Park, Kim, Hwang - Weigerding, Jang.
Asclepius had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
The following players took the field: Siancas - Badin, Lee, Mor-Yossef, van Gerwen - Kim, Højfeldt, Carles, Na, Woo - Vaerten.
Jinzerg saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
The strategy for Asclepius was to use their ability to press.
Jinzerg broke through on the left 24 minutes into the game, with
M. Lee firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 1 - 0 lead.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
R. Weigerding from Jinzerg a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 25 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
32 minutes into the game Asclepius managed a counterattack, but
C. Badin took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper.
33 minutes into the game, Asclepius seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to
solid.
It was obvious that Jinzerg had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Jinzerg's
T. Jang increased the lead to 2 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 37 minutes.
J. Kim's speed was clear to see after 39 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
E. Vaerten who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 2 - 1.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Jinzerg to 3 - 1 as
M. Lee finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Confident in their lead, Jinzerg's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Jinzerg had to make a substitution after 41 minutes.
R. Weigerding limped off the field and was replaced by
M. Lee.
M. Lee was handed the Jinzerg captain's armband.
Halftime score was 3 - 1.
Jinzerg enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.
During the break, Asclepius's coach went through the team's tactics yet again, getting them up to
solid organisation.
D. Byon wanted to play on, but the Jinzerg coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 55 minutes into the game by
S. Park.
57 minutes into the game,
J. Park had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
J. Lee.
After a savage shot that could only be parried by the keeper,
E. Vaerten demonstrated his experience by being in just the right place to slot home the rebound. His goal for Asclepius 77 minutes into the match made the score 3 - 2.
At this time in the match, Asclepius were using their skill at pressing to successfully stifle the game.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Jinzerg, with 54 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Jinzerg player was without a doubt
M. Lee.
J. Lee on the other hand, had a terrible day.
E. Vaerten performed admirably for Asclepius.
H. Lee was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 2.
