Dark skies made the crowd of 12000 at Boisko w Małgowie a little nervous, but the rain held off. Joseph Neil was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Hieronymus Schiebler and Curt Brun. Fans of both teams had been eagerly awaiting this Wielkopolskie derby and were doing their best to outshout their opponents. Małgów tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination. Cordeiro Martins broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. R. Fernández Luarca caught everyone by surprise with a unexpected volley after 35 minutes. O. Podkopaev was perfectly placed to take advantage of the play, but unfortunately, he was as surprised as anyone and couldn't finish for Warta. Some fine movement on the left led to a Warta goal after 36 minutes, making it 0 - 3. A. Farmsen was noted down as the scorer. The referee showed Małgów's Z. Zmora the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 40 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave S. Kabaluk a chance to increase the lead for Warta, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 4. Confident in their lead, Warta's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. C. Zep of Małgów was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. With 44 minutes played, E. Rogalo nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 0 - 4 was the score after the first half. Warta enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 85 percent of possession.

The referee signalled a penalty 58 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. K. Rędziak knocked it home to make the score 0 - 5. R. Pacuda was called on to replace Warta's A. Farmsen after 60 minutes following a nasty collision. E. Rogalo increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 6. Players in Warta heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. 68 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 7 as E. Rogalo finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. Warta had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. O. Podkopaev of Warta took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 73 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 0 - 8. 76 minutes into the game, Warta worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Warta, with 86 percent of the ball.

Małgów's best player was P. Gawor. However, F. Dul made a disastrous appearance. N. Cordeiro Martins performed admirably for Warta. On the other hand, R. Pacuda's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 8.
