(390293352)

29-07-2012 20.00
Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 12000 at
Vulture's Nest today.
Lasse Nilsen was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Giulio Verde and
Joni Qvick.
Vulture decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Gunneweg - Bobbink, Roijen, Slijkhuis, van Hoogendorp - Kuiken, Habraken, Veerkamp, Breukink - Clarisse, Valkeniers.
Denoek had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players took the field: Buruiană - Moana, Blondel - Niklaus, van de Kerkhof, Pirozzi, Rasborg, van Loon - Kucharski, Thorogood, Siebelink.
Denoek mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
G. van Loon really should have scored when he was chosen by fate to confront a wide open goal following a great play by
H. van de Kerkhof after a corner.
0 - 1 was the score with 32 minutes played, after
I. Kucharski cut through the central defence and chipped home a goal for Denoek.
36 minutes into the game, Denoek's
I. Kucharski fired home from an incredible distance! We'll be seeing that on Xmas goal compilation DVDs for years to come! 0 - 2.
Confident in their lead, Denoek's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
Against a lesser team, Denoek could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 37 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save.
38 minutes into the game,
M. Valkeniers had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
H. Seinstra.
The visitors'
H. van de Kerkhof took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 41 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Denoek.
G. van Loon increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 4.
0 - 4 was the halftime score.
Denoek enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 89 percent of possession.
Denoek increased their lead after 61 minutes when
I. Kucharski broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 5, much to the home crowd's dismay.
By then
I. Kucharski had scored three goals - a hat trick!
Denoek players heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their wing attacks to the middle instead.
After 68 minutes, Denoek's
F. Pirozzi burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 6.
S. Blondel sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
F. Niklaus after 69 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 7.
After 74 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
M. Thorogood who increased Denoek's lead to 0 - 8.
After 77 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
I. Kucharski a chance to increase the lead for Denoek, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 9.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Denoek tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
S. Blondel slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 0 - 10, 85 minutes into the game.
Possession in this half belonged to Denoek, who controlled the ball 92 percent of the time.
D. van Hoogendorp performed admirably for Vulture.
M. Gunneweg was a disappointment, however.
Denoek's best player was
I. Kucharski.
However,
G. van Loon made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 10.
