previous 2/10 next 4/10  Black 4 - 0 Ronik (391243094)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Black Tiger Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 26516. Conrad Oggenfuss was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Björn Hanskki and Tom Göransson. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Black. They fielded: Albert - Hamar, Vouzas, Valentini - Roa, Pieroni, Hrstka, Salah, Grosu - Statham, Martin.

Ronik started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Özdeş - Valderas, de Meijer, Asadabadi - Rosanes, Capron, Azoca, Nogues, Ortuzar - Mallea, Ahumada.

The wings were the focus of most of Ronik's attacks today. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave A. Hamar from Black a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 9 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! A loud groan was heard from the fans of Ronik, as V. Rosanes left the pitch in too much pain to finish the match. R. Ogalde took his place on the field. C. Ahumada was handed the Ronik captain's armband. Some lightning fast two foot dribbles by R. Martin left S. de Meijer way behind after 17 minutes, but the shot was just wide. After 28 minutes of play, I. Hrstka gave the home team a 1 - 0 lead after an attack coming in from the right. The referee showed Black's J. Roa the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Ronik's M. Özdeş left the field after 31 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was D. Peyre. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. J. Roa squirmed through their central defence after 33 minutes, increasing the lead to 2 - 0. 34 minutes into the game, Black were awarded a penalty that V. Vouzas turned into 3 - 0 without a problem. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Black lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. E. Valderas of Ronik received a yellow card after 38 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Black had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.

The Black players could smell victory in the air. R. Grosu wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for C. Mansour after 46 minutes. O. Statham wanted to play on, but the Black coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by E. Ebarhimi. The Black captaincy was handed to E. Ebarhimi. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Black's A. Hamar increasing the lead to 4 - 0. C. Valentini of Black was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Black's C. Mansour saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 64 minutes. Possession in this half belonged to Black, who controlled the ball 73 percent of the time.

Most important Black player was I. Hrstka. H. Albert turned in a dismal performance, however. Ronik's best player was J. Mallea. D. Peyre was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 0.
