previous 7/10 next 9/10  Chaoticians 6 - 1 Ilakuma (392037637)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and The Mandelbrot Set saw a crowd turnout of 37188. Aristeu Amorím was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Dustin Krakowiak-Seifert and Jeppe Lyhne. Chaoticians started off with a 2-5-3 lineup. They fielded: Ferguson - Ashcraft, Smith - Généreux, Mason, Plazas, Guillory, Quintanilla - Glenn, Kinsey, Shields.

Ilakuma had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Starters: Dunning - Salisbury, Meza, Donahue - Vollmer, Estep, Joyce, Black, MacKenzie - Lee, Harlow.

Chaoticians took a creative approach on the field. M. Glenn caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 6 minutes. This gave Chaoticians the 1 - 0 lead. D. Ashcraft fired a shot from distance after 20 minutes, but the long shot couldn't find the net for Chaoticians. After 21 minutes, J. Guillory made a complete fool of himself when he presented the ball to the feet of J. Harlow who smashed it into the open goal for Ilakuma. 1 - 1. J. Meza had a good try after 26 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. A questionable penalty 35 minutes in gave the home side the lead, 2 - 1. The visitors' goalie didn't stand a chance as J. Généreux knocked the ball home. Halftime score was 2 - 1. Chaoticians claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

Chaoticians solidified their lead at the 49 minute mark, as T. Kinsey dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1. The Chaoticians players could smell victory in the air. N. Ferguson wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for M. Schwarz after 60 minutes. Chaoticians's J. Guillory increased the lead to 4 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 63 minutes. The players of Chaoticians now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 73 minutes into the game, Ilakuma's attack got through on the right, but P. Salisbury couldn't handle the ball and his feeble kick wound up in the keeper's arms. With 76 minutes played, Chaoticians put themselves up 5 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to T. Kinsey, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After 80 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and J. Guillory gave the Chaoticians supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 6 - 1. Chaoticians enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 56 percent of possession.

Chaoticians's top performer was clearly R. Smith. J. Guillory turned in a dismal performance, however. W. Estep performed admirably for Ilakuma. However, L. Dunning made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 6 - 1.
