20-06-2012 13.15
Due to an all-day shower, 11784 paying spectators got to see a match on a pitch-turned-bog at
expodrome magnifiquo.
Silvio Jarvis was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ruud Schreurs and
Eugen Loučka.
FC_Pino tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
They fielded: Krasa - Višňanský, Welter, Anken, Brickel - Pasqui, Erincik, Voronin, Kavruk - Bay, Scheller.
Back-on-Track decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Orović - Blidar, Luger, De Maeyer - Dethier, Boris, Katz, Kuamba, Verstraeten - Gourvil, Clermont.
FC_Pino clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle.
The rain made it hard for players like
B. Boris to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when
B. De Maeyer was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 20 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead!
Back-on-Track's goal to make the score 0 - 1 came via a questionable penalty, but
N. Blidar struck it home without a second thought.
With 34 minutes played,
A. Višňanský of FC_Pino fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
The visitors added to their lead 36 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Back-on-Track's
N. Blidar slid just past the home keeper. 0 - 2.
J. Kuamba did not have a good day today, often losing his footing on the muddy pitch.
Unsportsmanlike behaviour by
A. Višňanský rendered him his second booking of the match, and FC_Pino had to finish the game with a reduced squad.
The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit
J. Bay just fine.
N. Blidar increased Back-on-Track's lead to 0 - 3 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner.
At that,
N. Blidar was noted down for a hat trick!
Confident in their lead, Back-on-Track's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
0 - 3 was the halftime score.
Back-on-Track had most of the ball, with 67 percent of possession.
With 49 minutes played, Back-on-Track put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
T. Gourvil.
53 minutes into the match,
M. Katz came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide.
M. Clermont came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
I. Krasa but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
The home crowd was not impressed when
I. Verstraeten came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 71 minutes. Back-on-Track were now up 0 - 5.
A penalty was awarded after 73 minutes, and
N. Blidar made the most of his chance to put Back-on-Track up by another goal. 0 - 6 for the visitors.
Back-on-Track enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 63 percent of possession.
The most dominating FC_Pino player was without a doubt
G. Scheller.
I. Krasa turned in a dismal performance, however.
B. De Maeyer performed admirably for Back-on-Track.
S. Orović was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 6.
