The wings were the focus of most of BaSiLiSk_FC's attacks today. NPI were relying on their ability to counter-attack. The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit P. Smartie just fine. 21 minutes into the match, the visiting NPI made the score 0 - 1 after D. Corbalán executed a perfect free kick. After 23 minutes, NPI's M. Cosma burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2. After 27 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for P. Smartie who increased NPI's lead to 0 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of NPI lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. D. Corbalán increased NPI's lead to 0 - 4 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. Halftime score was 0 - 4. NPI enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

47 minutes into the game a free kick by D. Corbalán found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making NPI's lead 0 - 5. That was his third goal of the match - a hat trick for D. Corbalán. The rain made it hard for players like I. Canchanya to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day. A penalty was awarded after 65 minutes, and D. Corbalán made the most of his chance to put NPI up by another goal. 0 - 6 for the visitors. The NPI players could smell victory in the air. A. Ledesma wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for S. Vértiz after 70 minutes. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave R. Huse from BaSiLiSk_FC a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The visitors' R. Malherbe took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 77 minutes into the match. 0 - 7 for NPI. Content with how the game was proceeding, the NPI coach let R. Rantolo replace D. Corbalán after 89 minutes. V. Flyktman wanted to play on, but the NPI coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 89 minutes into the game by R. Vaz. NPI claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

BaSiLiSk_FC's top performer was clearly T. Kaspi. On the other hand, A. Sabapathi's play was disheartening. Most important NPI player was A. Mogollón. R. Vaz turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 7.
