Laval 5 - 1 Macacrack
(393198952)

10-07-2012 19.15
A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 1936 to
Bosco Atro.
Vladimir Vitrih was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Erich Penz and
Merle Stiles.
Laval decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Lineup: Schinetti - Cantoni, Ginobili, Tamburrini - Brazof, Toncu, Trivellin, Lucchesi - Boschi, Rossi, Turino.
Macacrack tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
The following players took the field: Borreca - Sagen, Dragotă, Knuutinen, 村山 (Murayama) - Guerrini, Ascione, Käpelle, Döderlein - Noriega, Schächterle.
It was obvious that Macacrack were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic.
Down the middle came
S. Döderlein, making a fantastic play that nearly had Macacrack take the lead after 2 minutes, but
N. Schinetti preserved the tie.
D. Trivellin of Laval received a yellow card after 8 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
28 minutes into the match, the speedy
C. Noriega easily outpaced
I. Tamburrini, chipped the keeper and made the score 0 - 1.
29 minutes in, and Laval were able to score the equalising goal to make it 1 - 1 when
A. Boschi picked up a pass coming in from the right and chipped it past the away team's keeper.
G. Rossi gave Laval the lead as he successfully challenged the guests' central defenders, then slotted the ball into the bottom corner, giving the keeper no chance. 2 - 1
After 36 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
A. Boschi gave the Laval supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 1.
3 - 1 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Laval, who controlled the ball 59 percent of the time.
Cheers filled the stadium as
G. Rossi broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 4 - 1 to Laval.
Confident in their lead, Laval's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it.
After 50 minutes, Laval's
U. Turino fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
After 65 minutes, Macacrack switched
Y. Schächterle with
H. Claessens, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
Laval made it 5 - 1 as
A. Boschi got a touch to the floated corner kick and flicked the ball to
G. Ginobili who whipped a low drive in off the far post.
With 83 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
M. Cantoni needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
Coming from the right,
A. Boschi almost managed to score another goal for Laval, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
Macacrack's
A. Dragotă was shown a yellow card after 85 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Due to a severely mistimed tackle,
A. Boschi of Laval spent some time on the grass writhing in agony before he could get up and continue the game.
G. Ginobili should probably have put his team up another goal after 87 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
F. Borreca kept the visitors in the game.
Laval enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 57 percent of possession.
Most important Laval player was
U. Turino.
M. Cantoni was a disappointment, however.
Macacrack's top performer was clearly
A. Dragotă.
However,
O. Sagen made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 5 - 1.
