Overcast weather free of rain made for a crowd turnout of 46001 at Wildparkstadion today. Xeno Bumbacher was the appointed referee. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for KSC. They fielded: Strahm - Fuertes, Randazzo, Fehr - Näkkilä, Mårtensson, Fried, Culot, Vidali - Lorenz, Formentin.

Obeabe50 decided to use a 3-4-3 set up. Starters: Veitschegger - Griffaton, Emili, Egudin - Tsioumplekos, Rager, Malinovič, Dalbon - Ilardi, Anselmo, Ahlberg.

Using their counter-attacking abilities was the strategy of choice for KSC. A. Lorenz of KSC was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. KSC's counterattacks created a good chance for C. Formentin on the right after 16 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. After 30 minutes, the Obeabe50 coach had a quick word about the tactical set-up and decided to try another approach. D. Ilardi had a good try after 32 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. T. Fuertes couldn't do anything to stop the technically gifted W. Ahlberg as he dodged past on his way to scoring a wonderful goal for Obeabe50 - 0 - 1! 34 minutes into the match, KSC's F. Vidali maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. With 35 minutes played T. Fuertes almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. 1 - 1 was the score after the first half. Obeabe50 had most of the ball, with 59 percent of possession.

P. Mårtensson would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. J. Pinsel entered the game for KSC as the match clock showed 46 minutes. 57 minutes in, KSC's H. Fehr received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 58 minutes into the game, W. Ahlberg had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. KSC showed their counterattack skill 59 minutes into the match by breaking through the middle, with A. Lorenz scoring uncontested for 2 - 1. The visitors' equaliser seemed sure to come after 60 minutes, following a one on one situation around the left hand side of the goal area, but S. Strahm got the best of it, blocking the shot from B. Malinovič. After 65 minutes, the visitors tied it up at 2 - 2 when a fantastic pass from the left was finished off by B. Malinovič. As the 75 minute mark approached, the Obeabe50 coach decided it was time for a substitution. D. Ilardi reluctantly made way for J. Urban on the pitch. Obeabe50 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 62 percent of possession.

After the regular 90 minutes, the agony of extra time followed. Obeabe50's B. Malinovič managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 97 minutes. 2 - 3. Extra time over, Obeabe50 were the victors! Most important KSC player was C. Formentin. However, T. Fuertes made a disastrous appearance. F. Anselmo performed admirably for Obeabe50. E. Veitschegger on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 3.
