Malinwa 7 - 1 Mole
(393276336)

18-07-2012 13.30
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 2567 to
K.V. Malinwa Arena.
Eduardo Robmann was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Omar Nordenflycht and
Jörn Düsterhäft.
Malinwa started off with a 3-4-3 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Traylor - Hoare, Akkan, Chiesa - Asayag, Oberndorfer, Abed-Hussain, Lagrain - Maes, Notebaert, d'Hond.
Mole tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination.
They fielded: Schricker - Palma, Francelos - Araube, Lunzer, Marchenko, Pantano, Jasina - Neau, Santana-Bauzá, Knap.
Malinwa tried to focus their attacks down the middle.
Mole took a creative approach on the field.
6 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Malinwa was
M. Abed-Hussain.
Malinwa had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Malinwa's
G. Notebaert increasing the lead to 2 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Malinwa were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
Mole's
R. Francelos got himself booked for a foul.
A. Oberndorfer behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 39 minutes as he gave the ball away to
A. Lunzer. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
After 41 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
R. Chiesa might have resulted in another goal for Malinwa. However,
N. Schricker made a spectacular save.
Malinwa's
F. d'Hond finished emphatically to make the score 3 -0 after 43 minutes, after the enigmatic
E. Maes pulled a delightful long pass from his box of tricks to bypass the defence.
E. Maes could have increased the lead after 44 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park.
A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of Malinwa to 4 - 0 as
E. Maes finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle.
Halftime score was 4 - 0.
Malinwa claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 58 minutes, Malinwa did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
M. Abed-Hussain was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 5 - 0.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Mole tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
T. Araube slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 5 - 1, 72 minutes into the game.
73 minutes into the game,
D. Knap had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came
R. Huenumán.
With 75 minutes played, Malinwa's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
E. Maes he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 6 - 1.
Central attacks were the recipe of the day for Malinwa, as they moved the ball from the wings to the middle with startling regularity.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
F. d'Hond squirmed through their central defence after 77 minutes, increasing the lead to 7 - 1.
Malinwa enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 68 percent of possession.
N. Akkan performed admirably for Malinwa.
I. Hoare was a disappointment, however.
Mole's top performer was clearly
K. Neau.
On the other hand,
N. Schricker's play was disheartening.
The match ends 7 - 1.
