previous 1/10 next 3/10  FC.YNWA 3 - 0 Egebjerg (393417823)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 51112 to Merseyside Castle. Nik Faraki was the appointed referee. FC.YNWA decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. Lineup: Radzki - Tryk, Køngerskov - Oelckers, Kook, Raitelhuber, Wybrandt, Winther - Bokander, Correzzola, Kostadinov.

Egebjerg had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation. The following players took the field: Berktan - Cohen, Larsson, Frisgaard, Ledó - Magnus, Sacken, Helgesen, Elverum, Egartner - Reginald.

The wings were the focus of most of Egebjerg's attacks today. FC.YNWA created a good opportunity to score 5 minutes into the match when P. Køngerskov's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when B. Sacken slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against B. Radzki, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. FC.YNWA took the lead after 21 minutes as a result of N. Kostadinov's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 1 - 0. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in FC.YNWA's J. Oelckers increasing the lead to 2 - 0. 28 minutes into the game, C. Correzzola had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came K. Ekelund. B. Sacken could've grabbed a goal for Egebjerg 40 minutes in when he got a pass from the left putting him free of the home side's defence, but he was unable to take advantage of the situation. 2 - 0 was the score after the first half. Egebjerg claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Egebjerg manager used a brief break in play after 65 minutes to give the players new directives. With 68 minutes played, D. Cohen had a fantastic opportunity to reply but his shot flew harmlessly into the side-netting of the goal. In an effort to secure the lead, FC.YNWA changed their tactic after 70 minutes. Egebjerg were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. FC.YNWA managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when D. Bokander cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. At this point, it was obvious that the players of FC.YNWA lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Egebjerg, with 55 percent of the ball.

Most important FC.YNWA player was K. Tryk. K. Ekelund turned in a dismal performance, however. Egebjerg's best player was O. Frisgaard. H. Larsson was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 0.
