previous 5/10 next 7/10  TAIWAN 2 - 2 Jakken (394017301)

A scorching day at SUNNY PARK, where 2428 spectators were in place for today's match. Tomás Senra was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Billy Delgado and Ranco Bult. TAIWAN started off with a 5-4-1 lineup. Starters: Villarreal - Zuriano, Esteves, Zieba, Kolyvanov, Broertjes - Altenburger, 宇博 (Yubo), Sautereau, 輝康 (Huikang) - Lora.

Jakken had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation. They fielded: Straube - Sahlér, Barnini - Póta, Docx, Pleis, Valiante, Meents - Nuspl, Tenti, Wachtmeister.

TAIWAN mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle. After a fine move down the middle E. Lora nearly gave the home side a goal after 13 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. 14 minutes into the match, Jakken's J. Póta demonstrated his famed speed as he raced past his marker and passed the ball to M. Tenti who chipped it in for 0 - 1. Halftime score was 0 - 1. TAIWAN claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

D. Pleis received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 47 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Jakken fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. T. Wachtmeister enjoyed the sunshine and demonstrated his stunning technique over and over again. 70 minutes into the game TAIWAN broke through on the left wing and D. Sautereau managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2. After 79 minutes, TAIWAN's L. Kolyvanov fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! TAIWAN tried to even things up by sending a long ball towards the centrally placed strikers, but the visitors' defence got the best of this rather direct style of play. 85 minutes in, TAIWAN appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only inadequate. As usual, J. Zuriano tried to use his strength and hard work for the benefit of the team, but the heat hit him hard and he couldn't keep pace at all. 87 minutes into the game, F. Altenburger came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar. After 88 minutes of play, J. Zuriano equalised for TAIWAN after an elegant attack from the right. Possession in this half belonged to TAIWAN, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

The most dominating TAIWAN player was without a doubt E. Lora. On the other hand, 林. 宇博 (Yubo)'s play was disheartening. Jakken's best player was T. Wachtmeister. D. Pleis turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 2 - 2.
