2606 spectators arrived at
Ronaldo 9 Stadium, where weather conditions were pretty good for football.
Carlos Alberto Aquino was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Festus Tanko and
Maurycy Krajewski.
Ronaldo9 had chosen a strategic 4-5-1 formation.
The following players had been chosen: Floreaga - Lancha Pacheco, Sagredo, Liva, Cotes - Ziani, Wallage, Kuzmany, Sazak, Foy - Gago.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for FcSk.
The following players took the field: Peterhans - Vagenhofer, Leplat, Arens, Eugeni - Krahn, Zimmer, Souder, Hagnauer - Kirchhoff, Masneri.
After 27 minutes, FcSk's
F. Masneri swiftly ran past
J. Sagredo and nutmegged the keeper! 0 - 1.
After 29 minutes, Ronaldo9 sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
J. Sagredo, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 1.
Ronaldo9 took the lead after 30 minutes as a result of
G. Liva's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1.
I. Lancha Pacheco behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 31 minutes as he gave the ball away to
I. Hagnauer. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
Ronaldo9's
Y. Sazak got himself booked for a foul.
FcSk were forced into a substitution as
T. Vagenhofer couldn't continue due to some rough treatment, forcing
T. Berger to come in off the bench.
Given a free kick close to the byline, Ronaldo9 tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let
G. Cotes slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 3 - 1, 36 minutes into the game.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Ronaldo9 lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
The referee showed FcSk's
F. Leplat the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
It was 3 - 1 at the break.
Ronaldo9 had most of the ball, with 84 percent of possession.
With 46 minutes played, the FcSk coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
K. Kämpfe came on,
V. Peterhans had to leave the fray.
Ronaldo9's
S. Kuzmany swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball.
70 minutes into the game, Ronaldo9 seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
passable level of organisation.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
J. Sagredo from Ronaldo9 a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 81 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
Ronaldo9 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 83 percent of possession.
The most dominating Ronaldo9 player was without a doubt
Y. Sazak.
A. Ziani turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important FcSk player was
F. Leplat.
T. Berger on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 1.
