A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Salnas. They fielded: Molchkov - Lasis, Kalniņš, Kulmancis - Rozenfelds-Rožlauks, Zariņš, Treijs, Vlasiev, Lazarevich - Štrauss, Bērziņš.

Forpost started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players took the field: Bonfanti - Skovoroda, Klaptsov, Vaello - Dydychkin, Shlapak, Gaynetdinov, Sukhovskiy, Aguado - Bille, Donetskiy.

Y. Donetskiy had a good opportunity to give Forpost the lead as he charged down the right and struck the ball towards the top corner, but the home team's goalkeeper made the save. With 13 minutes played E. Bērziņš almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. Forpost's S. Aguado could have put the guests one up after 26 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but M. Molchkov was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. P. Klaptsov's technique was perfect on this sunny day and led to some breathtaking tricks that bamboozled the defence. R. Vaello came close to putting the visiting team one up 28 minutes into the match, following a solo raid down the middle, but M. Molchkov managed to tip the ball to a corner. 33 minutes in, Salnas's A. Rozenfelds-Rožlauks received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. 34 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Salnas was A. Lasis. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Forpost, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

V. Vlasiev left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 55 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. D. Balodis was the replacement. Forpost levelled the score after 55 minutes to make it 1 - 1, as D. Skovoroda struck home after a fine midfield combination through the centre, which left him completely unmarked. 70 minutes into the game, Salnas wanted to bring some new energy to their game. U. Kalniņš gave A. Ķivulis a quick hug as he left the field. 70 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Salnas substitution. A. Deičmanis came on for T. Treijs. Under heavy pressure after 72 minutes, the inexperienced Salnas struggled to maintain their level of play. A well placed corner kick from I. Zariņš was followed by R. Štrauss's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Salnas, the score now 2 - 1. A cross coming in on the right hand side left M. Gaynetdinov alone in front of the goal after 86 minutes but his shot was woeful. Possession was split evenly between the teams.

Salnas's top performer was clearly E. Bērziņš. On the other hand, A. Ķivulis's play was disheartening. Most important Forpost player was N. Shlapak. P. Klaptsov was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 1.
