Dark skies made the crowd of 2983 at Arena Grandis a little nervous, but the rain held off. Wilger Adelaar was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jong-Man '철벽' Park and Tore Duster. A.R.156 tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination. The following players took the field: Frisullo - Simu, Nadarevič, Ačimovič, Marincel - Blaško, Boltez, Osterverh, Županc, Schiettekat - Žnidaršič.

Alinghi started off with a 4-3-2 lineup. Lineup: Penning - Ralbovszky, Schmoll, Senn, Janes - Bacher, Dietrich, Waltenberger - Sever, Schulz.

A.R.156 clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could. L. Schmoll behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 26 minutes as he gave the ball away to M. Žnidaršič. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. 28 minutes into the match and the home team took a 1 - 0 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for A.R.156 was T. Osterverh. J. Simu of A.R.156 was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 31 minutes in, Alinghi appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only poor. A speedy charge from the left side of the field increased the lead of A.R.156 to 2 - 0 as V. Blaško finished it off competently, firing in from an acute angle. A.R.156's D. Županc left the field after 39 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was M. Apšner. After 42 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Alinghi found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to poor. A.R.156 increased the lead as G. Nadarevič struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. A.R.156 increased the lead as Z. Boltez struck to make the score 4 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. At this point, it was obvious that the players of A.R.156 lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. After 45 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Alinghi found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to wretched. Z. Boltez should probably have put his team up another goal after 45 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by N. Penning kept the visitors in the game. V. Blaško of A.R.156 was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. The teams went for the halftime break at 4 - 0. A.R.156 had most of the ball, with 83 percent of possession.

The Alinghi players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a inadequate organisation when the game started again. T. Osterverh could have increased the lead after 52 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. 61 minutes into the game, Alinghi had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to weak. M. Žnidaršič had a fantastic opportunity to put A.R.156 up another goal 68 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. After 79 minutes, there was a bit of a mixup on the field as Alinghi found themselves out of position and their organisation level dropped to weak. With 81 minutes played, A.R.156 put themselves up 5 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to M. Žnidaršič, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, R. Schulz got himself booked. The manager of Alinghi was not happy. A.R.156 enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 82 percent of possession.

A.R.156's top performer was clearly M. Žnidaršič. G. Nadarevič was a disappointment, however. Most important Alinghi player was G. Dietrich. However, E. Ralbovszky made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
